Don Bosco Academy of Music and Fine Arts celebrated the World Music Day in a worthy manner on June 21, 2014. It was an occasion in which we gave away the certificates to our students who passed the grade examinations under Trinity College, London. The Music Instructors who were instrumental in preparing the students for the grade examinations were also honoured during the programme.
We were also privileged to have Rev. Fr. Thomas Anchukandam SDB, the Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province of Bengaluru as our Chief Guest for the same. The programme started with a prayer by Masters Gichu, Sherin and Joyalmon. Rev. Fr. Rector welcomed the gathering and it was followed by lighting of the Indian Lamp by Fr. Provincial, Fr. Rector, Fr. Yashin, Ms Anu Maria Rose and Sneha Rita.
Ms. Sneha Rita performed a musical piece on the Piano. Sri. Gittu Joy, a Past Pupil of DBCC sang a heart touching melody from the moive Saajan Bin Suhagan (Hindi). Masters. Anand, Joyal, Jenson and Sharon Joy performed their grade examination piece on the Keyboard. Master Gichu Joy gave a remarkable performance on the Piano (Composition: Waterfall by The Piano Guys). Ms. Anu Maria Rose, the first prize winner for light music from M. G University sang a beautiful Malayalam hit Azhalinte aazhangalil from the movie Ayaalum Njaanum Thammil.
The students who had appeared for the grade examinations under Trinity College, London were awarded the certificates of merit received from the centre in UK.
