We had the World Music Day meaningfully celebrated at Don Bosco Music Academy on 21st June 2015. Rev. Fr. Joyce Francis, SDB- Provincial of Sacred Heart Province of Banglore was the chief guest of the day. The programme began at 6 pm with a prayer led by the students fo don Bosco Cultural cEntre, Vennala. Rev. Fr. Joyson SDB (Rector) then extended a warm welcome to Rev. Fr. Provincial and to all those who had gathered for the musical evening. It was followed by the lighting of the ceremoninal lamp by Rev. Fr. Joyce Francis (Provincial), Rev. Fr. Joyson SDB (Rector), Fr. Yashin Jose SDB(Director- DB Music Academy), Masteres Alwin George and Kevin Snathosh (Students – DB Music Academy).
We were truly privileged to have Rev. Fr. Joyce our former Rector and present Provincial with us for the World Music Day. He delivered the Keynote address in which he expressed his feelings of joy and happiness at the way Academy is progressing and emphasized on the relevane of commintment and dedication we ought to have fro the development this God-given talent “Music”.
A few of the students of the academy presented musical programmes after which Rev. Fr. Provincial gave away the certificates for all the students who had done the Grade Examinations of Trinity were given the certificates of Faith Formation (Ernakulam – Ankamaly Arch Diocese).
Our students who had bagged the second prize at 55th Kerala state Youth Festival held in Calicut, were awarded the certificates of Merit on the same occasion. Gittu Joy and Gichu Joy who had completed 8 Grades in Violin and Piano respectively under Trinity College, London, were also specially with mementos during the programme.
Hemaline Rose a Student DB Music Academy was the Mc for the programme.
