For the first time in the history of Don Bosco Acadmey of Music and Fine Arts, an official Carnatic Vocal Concert (Naadha Brahmam) was organized at our centre. Sri. Vineeth Mohan (Vocal) who has completed his Degree and PG in Carnatic Vocal from RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Tripunithura was accompanied by Sri. Sudhin Cherthala (Violin), Sri. Sethu Muhamma (Mruthangam), and Sri Sathyaraj Cherthala (Ghatam). Rev. Fr Joyce (Rector) welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Yashin Jose proposed the vote of thanks. The artists were also honored with a memento at the end of the programme. The concert lasted for one and half hours.
Sri . Vineeh Mohan began his concert with an Adi Tala Varnam – Evvary Bodhana Vini in Abhogi raga (composition of Sri Pattanam Subramanya Ayar). It was followed by a number of kritis and keerthanas in different ragas bringing out the intricacies of raga and tala. Sri. Vineeth Mohan who took every care to be authentic to the traditional style of performing the vocal concert concluded the programme with a thillana in sudha dhanyasi raga and mangalam in Madhyamaavathi raga. Naadha Brahmam was indeed a very pleasant musical experience for the listeners as well as for the performers.
